James and Dawn Campbell purchased the Talkeetna Denali View Lodge & Cabins in June of 2024 and moved to Talkeetna to make it their permanent home. As a life-long Alaskan, Dawn has always had a special place in her heart for this quaint little town that she visited hundreds of times over the years growing up and living in Southcentral Alaska, and James was equally enamored when he purchased a piece of land in Chase (just north of Talkeetna along the railbelt) in 2004. As outdoor enthusiasts, both Dawn and James couldn’t be happier than they are currently, perched on the edge of a vast wilderness with views that simply never get old. James retired from the US Air Force in Alaska, where he met his match, aka his wife, Dawn. Originally from Minnesota, James came to Alaska thanks to the military and decided he never wanted to leave. Dawn on the other hand was born in Alaska and has worked in the Alaska Tourism Industry for nearly 30-years. She is passionate about sharing Alaska with the world and could tell you stories of growing up in “The Last Frontier”. It has always been our dream to own a lodge in Alaska, and now our dream has come true!. Come experience the beauty of Alaska, we would love to share it with you.
AMENITIES AND ACTIVITIES
We are passionate about providing you with home-spun comforts and conveniences while staying with us. We want you to enjoy Talkeetna and the many sights and activities surrounding us. At our lodge, you can enjoy relaxing evenings on the deck, a leisurely walk around the lake, a short hike to other area lakes and streams or, watch the moose, bear, loons, ducks and beavers in the ponds below our bluff.
Take in our grand view of Denali, Mt. Foraker, Mt. Hunter and others from our large and spacious living room. At the same time, you can enjoy a movie, a ball game or a DVD on the 56”HD Big Screen TV. If you enjoy photography, take advantage of our many photo-ops; It’s hard to know where to begin. In Winter, bring your snow machines, snowshoes, or Nordic skis and enjoy our Winter Activity Packages and the many local trails.
